Greece opens Eurovision 2027 selection

Greece has officially started its search for Eurovision 2027, with ERT bringing back Sing for Greece for another three-show national selection.

Greek broadcaster ERT opened submissions on 22 September, inviting artists and songwriters to put themselves forward for next May’s Eurovision Song Contest in Burgas. And after deciding that one televised selection wasn’t nearly enough fun, Sing for Greece returns with two semi-finals and a national final.

Up to 20 songs will compete across the two semi-finals. Twelve will progress to the final, with the qualifiers decided entirely by the public vote. For the final itself, the winning song will be chosen through a combination of public voting and jury voting, with the victorious performer earning Greece’s ticket to Eurovision 2027.

ERT says it is sticking with the expanded format after strong audience figures for last year’s three competitive shows on ERT1 and ERTFLIX.

The broadcaster also describes the process as an opportunity for contemporary Greek music to get itself in front of a sizeable television audience, which is considerably more useful than locking six people in a conference room and emerging three hours later with somebody’s cousin and a power ballad.

Submissions are open now and close at 23:59 on Sunday 1 November 2026.

ERT hasn’t yet announced the dates for the two semi-finals or national final.
