Greece – Ferto – is a retro camp.
Ferto is a song about the desire to be rich, have a comfortable life with a lot of money. It is mostly a slice of fun song with some campy elements and a look of retro gaming. It works for the most part of the song and that Ferto repeat is just catchy. The song combines some Greek elements which make it sound slightly different from what is around him. No wonder that when this song is up, the audience just goes bonker.
At 2.20 minute, the song changes gears, where Akyla makes a plea to his mom saying that if he wins and becomes rich, she will have all the things she didn’t have when he was young. It is a nice touch, trying to give a bit of serious touch to a fun song and reminisce of what Europapa(The Netherlands 2024 did at the end of the song). I am not sure it 100% works in the context of the song or where it is placed in the song, because right after this plea the song goes back to the Ferto part and makes you forget that emotional plea.
This is this year Latte Machiatto, only musically better, it should do very well with the televoters and give Greece another top 10 result.
