Shai’s Eurovision Countdown – Part Eight – Croatia

Croatia – Andromeda – Is surprisingly good.

This one caught me by surprise. It follows the footsteps of Czechia 2023 and Latvia 2025, where a group of women vocalists sing about how women are treated in the world. It’s far better than I expected it to be. The subject is heavy and can go wrong when overdoing it, but they have chosen for a dramatic yet undertone approach. From the national final performances, it seems they got it right. The dark stage and presentation fit the song and its subject matter, although they might need to soften it a bit for Eurovision stage.

I am finding myself liking this song, more than I liked it on first listen, just after it has been chosen. This song will be performed at the 1st semi final, right after Sweden. There could be no bigger difference between these 2 songs, and Croatia wins big times. This should do well. Wouldn’t mind seeing this one in the top 10.

My marks – 10 points.
