Jonas Lovv – Ya ya ya
Imagine, dear reader, if Freddie Mercury and Conchita had a bastard lovechild in the Nordic of all countries who gained the flair from one and the pornstar moustache of another – couple that with a song that could be straight out of any Eurovisionista’s back catalogue and you have an almost perfect recipe for a Eurovision winner, however not perfect because Finland are going to win.
if Finland *aren’t* going to win, and I’ve seen nothing to tell me they aren’t I hasten to add, I would not be surprised if this isn’t right up there challenging. It’s got the right amount of mincing about in the performance to remind people of both Freddie and Eurovision, it’s got a tune and a hook that stay in your brain for quite a long time BUT is instant enough for the very simple televoters of Europe to “want that one” –
What the juries are going to see is that rare thing, a song that does have the international hit appeal they are looking for. It has all the right ingredients to win,. I just think it’s going to come 3rd though.
