So back they come with their tails between their legs after a couple of years away trying to scratch the money together to come back.
I’m currently writing this whilst drinking beer in Bratislava the week before the rehearsals start properly and I just think that it is too overblown even with the remixed song now being out for several weeks. I don’t think I like the opera shouty bits abut it definitely has potential, let’s say that. I just think it’s overplaying the big dramatic song too much for me which, granted, could play into the hands of the jurors and the televote.
A learned member of Eurovision Ireland likes this very much indeed – I just can’t see who in their minds would spend 20p on it to vote for it and the juries will probably pass it by as well. Potential may be all well and good, but there is still an awful lot that will depend on the visuals.
