Lithuania’s 2026 entry is Lion Ceccah with ‘Sólo Quiero Más’, selected through a national final that tested even the biggest Eurovision fan – Eurovizija.LT. Lion Ceccah, a Vilnius-based musical theatre performer and advocate of drag culture, is not arriving with a shy little singer-songwriter moment. This is designed as an art-pop statement, and one that Lithuania clearly believes can stand out in the second half of the first semi-final.
The song itself is cold, minimal and highly stylised. It moves between Lithuanian, Spanish, English, French, German and Italian, which certainly lends the whole affair something of a cosmopolitan sheen. But little in the way of emotional warmth. There’s a (deliberate?) robotic quality to both the performance style and the production, and it makes the whole thing feel distant. The structure is stop-start, the hook more concept than release, and the song never quite settles long enough to become absorbing. I can hear the idea behind it, and it’s not a bad one. The problem is that to me, it sounds as though one striking core notion has been surrounded by a bunch of less persuasive ones.
Lithuania has tended to do better when it backs entries with a clear identity, even when they divide opinion. Lion Ceccah is a recognisable performer, and this isn’t another piece of cautious mid-table compromise. It reads as constructed for Eurovision rather than ordinary life, but then so do quite a lot of songs that end up doing quite well at our annual cheese-fest. The question for me is whether the live vocal will be able to carry something this exposed and precise in such a big hall.
History
Lithuania’s enjoyed a respectable run of late. Silvester Belt finished 14th in 2024 with ‘Luktelk’, and Katarsis followed with 16th in 2025 after qualifying comfortably from the semi-final. More broadly, Lithuania made 18 finals from 25 appearances. They’re still waiting for a top five, with a best result from LT United’s 6th place in 2006.
As for 2026, I’m going to use the word borderline. Juries may appreciate the ambition and styling more than televoters might, but equally, televoters sometimes warm to entries that look unapologetically odd. Qualification is possible, especially in a semi-final where memorable can count for more than lovable. But this is one of those songs where the performance may have to do an awful lot of the persuading. For me though…
