Star quality was the hope; whether Lithuania found it is another matter. The revamped Eurovizija.LT selection began on 13 January, with the first of five heats looking for the songs that will eventually make the final.
The format is slightly modified and, very slightly, simplified. Each heat features eight songs, with two advancing to the final. The qualifiers are decided by a combination of televoting and jury votes.
So, from the opening heat, these are the two acts that made it through:
