Germany – Fire – is just a beige generic pop cliche
This countdown is done in alphabet order. It just so happens that Germany is squeezed between Georgia and Greece in this countdown. To put it mildly. Georgia and Greece are just pissing over Germany. Comparing Germany to these 2 songs, just shows you all the things which are going wrong for Germany.
A song should be a surprise. It should excite you, make you wish to hear the song once more. This song is none of the above. You hear a song, using a formula used so many times before and when the song ends, you just don’t want to listen to it again. Not because it is a bad song, but because this song is just 3 minutes of cliche and generic pop. Nothing new or exciting here. It is a dated song. It sounds like a reject of Madonna or Kyle Minogue in the end of 1980’s beginning of the 90’s .Let’s not talk about the cliché text and the horrible rhyming.
The whole presentation and video look like a rip off of Fuego(Cyprus 2018) but lacking the energy that song had when performing live. There are rumors that she is busy with recording a new Eurovision version. Unless she comes with a fresh approach and sound for the song, it’s still doomed.
This looks like another bottom 5 result for Germany.
