Countdown Countdown 2026 Shai’s Eurovision Countdown 2026 – Part Seven – Bulgaria

Shai’s Eurovision Countdown 2026 – Part Seven – Bulgaria

Bulgaria – Bangaranga – Is quite a mess.

Remember Unicorn (Israel 2023) ? One of the complaints about the song was that there were at least 3 or 4 songs cramped in that particular song. Well Bulgaria 2026 is the same . At least 3 songs made it to this song. Unicorn was a controlled chaos. This song is quite messy with 3 or even 4 different ideas which don’t come together as a whole in 1 song.

The opening, which repeats itself several times through the song, sounds, musically, so familiar to me. I am sure I have heard this somewhere before, but can’t put the finger where this coming from. It’s also quite memorable , draws you in the song and remains in your head, long after the song ends. The transition to the Bangaranga section is relatively smooth but the 3rd part, where, for some reasons, they decided to change gear to something different is just coming out of nowhere and has no connection to what was before. That section just throws you out of the song.

To be honest, I have no idea what Bangaranga is or what it is supposed to be. It is sort of catchy but it is a kind of fast food with no added nutrition value . The televote will love this. The juries-not so much.

My marks – 7 points
