Phil’s Eurovision Countdown 2026 – Part Twenty Two – Luxembourg

Luxembourg – Mother Nature – Eva Marija.

God almighty I’d forgotten that this song was even a thing as it was chosen back in January when it was very cold and very dull, just two of the epithets that I could, if I was feeling uncharitable, I could apply to this song. I really ought to be charitable as two of the four song writers also had a hand in the UK entry, but they also had a hand in the San Marinese one so I guess you can’t write songs all the time.

Back to this disaster set to music, then and this is really a song that’s built two bars of music and the phrase “mother nature, she knows” repeated over and over in the chorus’ and throughout the rest of the song. The verses are just boring pieces of nothing songwriting, almost as they have been copied and pasted from something else the songwriters have written, Only Teardrops only instead of an odious cunt on the penny whistle they have her “playing. She has a voice that is constantly seems to be on the edge of falling off a number of notes so she will have to improve dramatically in a very few days time in order to do something on the scoreboard. It does only have to beat five in the second semi final, but that might well be a difficult task
