Georgian Idol wins Eurovision tickets

The Eurovision world has largely ignored the ongoing process to pick who gets to sing for Georgia in Tel Aviv this year – mostly on account of the fact it’s been a long drawn out casting show process based around the tired ‘Idol’ format.

But this evening saw things take a distinctly Eurovision-turn with the four finalists singing three potential contest songs. Eager-eyed viewers will instantly spot the logistical twist.

One song got two airings from different artists, but nobody said anything and voting opened.

I have to admit, though, it was so long and drawn out that the actual winners announcement passed me by. I believe Oto Nemsadze in a nice winter coat singing ‘Sul tsin iare’ (which translates to Go Ahead) was the winner.
