Akylas Sings for Greece – see what I did there?

Greece has chosen its act for Eurovision 2026 after a tense and polished Sing for Greece final in Athens, closing a national selection season that has kept fans busy for weeks. Across fourteen performances, ERT delivered a show that blended radio‑ready pop, left‑field entries and a strong sense of Greek musical identity, before finally crowning a winner that felt like a complete Eurovision “package”.

A slick night of live TV

The live final opened with a high‑energy medley of past Greek Eurovision entries, setting a nostalgic tone before the competing acts took the stage.  Then Hosts kept the pacing tight, well as tight as ERT can do (there was still a lot of talking in the show) there were also  short green‑room chats and pre‑recorded postcards introducing each artist and giving viewers a glimpse behind the scenes. Visually, the production leaned on bold LED backdrops, laser effects and clever camera cuts, giving several songs a staging concept that would not look out of place on the Eurovision stage itself.

They then got all the acts on the side of the stage for the results so there really was no place to hide their disapointment as the points came in.   They also forced them to speak by doing some interviews in the voting window which seemd a bit unneccessary to be honest.

The outcome was decided by a combination of jury and televote, which has become the standard now.
