ONEUROPE: Eurovision Song Contest news
Contests 2015 Switzerland have three minutes to shine

Switzerland have three minutes to shine

It’s an odd comparison, of the type you’re used to by now, but watching Switzerland after Sweden gives me the same feeling I had in 2006 watching Amambanda after Lordi. It’s perfectly nice, bit dull, feels like a time-filler. Well enough performed, nothing to really dent your brain – for a song called Time To Shine, there’s actually not a lot that shines and screams “Notice me!”The intro’s too long. The outro’s too quiet and there’s a shade too much of it. I called out Portugal earlier for feeling padded to fill three allocated minutes, and I kind of get the same sense with this – to a lesser extent, but still.

It feels like the sort of song that gets overlooked when points start being allocated. I’ve got too many non-qualifiers already, but this seems like an absolutely textbook honourable NQ.
