Switzerland has done ‘the thing’ again. No national final. No six-week parade of “this will sound amazing with pyro” followed by a 0-point panic spiral. Just a neat little announcement, and the quiet assurance that yes, they have been listening to songs in a windowless room for months so you don’t have to.

SRG SSR have confirmed that Veronica Fusaro will represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna.

Who is Veronica Fusaro, then?

If your Eurovision knowledge begins and ends with “Nemo did The Code and everything changed forever”, you might not have clocked Fusaro yet, but she’s been on the Swiss pop circuit for a while.

She’s a singer-songwriter from Thun, now based in Bern, with an alt-pop leaning that suggests Switzerland are continuing their recent habit of turning up with something modern, radio-friendly, and just left-of-centre enough to feel curated.

She’s also got the TV origin story, because of course she does: Fusaro appeared on The Voice of Switzerland back in 2014.

Swiss TV say the 2026 entry was selected from 493 submitted songs. But we won’t hear a note until Wednesday 11 March 2026. Until then, we are all legally required to pretend we can predict what it will sound like based on moody press shots and a genre tag.

Not that this should stop anyone.
