So your season has started now with Melodifestivalen Semi One yes?

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

It’s been a bit of a slow start around Europe with not many shows in the beginning of January, but all that stopped tonight when the Melodifestivalen circus came to town.

They are going on their usual tour of Sweden for six weeks, but they have tweaked the voting process.

Gone is the legally mandated phone number (that doesn’t include a donation/cost to Radiohjelpen) and IN comes free app voting as an alternative.

Back comes the scoreboard for the second qualifier to the final, but the wild card qualifier – the one with the most votes remaining rather than points – will be announced exclusively on SVT PLAY  and not linear television.

They also are calling the songs the more grammatical “bidrag” and not “Melody” – I’ve put my complaint in already (and I actually have!) – so after all that – six songs, two direkt, one wild card, three out.

Those six were:

Our first show in Lingkoping looked a very ranshackle affair in the rehearsal on Friday night, but they seemed to have tightened it up no end, thank the Lord, to be the slick show we expected.
