Polish Voices Take Charge: Eurovision 2026 Entry Hinges on Public Vote

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Well, would you look at that? TVP, the Polish broadcaster that can barely organise a coffee break without a three-hour committee meeting, has officially opened its entries for Eurovision 2026. Yes, the time has come once again for Poland’s hopefuls to submit their bops and ballads, camping up for that precious ticket to Vienna. The cut-off for submissions—November 24th. Meaning, any last-minute “I forgot to write the chorus” disasters are on a deadline, and we all know someone will miss it by a whisker of melodramatic angst.

The Polish national final this year is all about letting the great Polish public have TOTAL control—100% televote. Which means that if Auntie Jadwiga’s neighbour once brought her a cabbage, he’s probably getting 12 points from the region, regardless of whether he can sing in tune. There were rumours of “The Voice” being shoved into the selection process again, but for now, we’re staring down the classic Polish national final, aka “Who Wants To Beat Edyta Górniak’s Record?”.

Looking Back, Charging Ahead

Ah, Poland and Eurovision—the relationship that’s a little bit spicy, a touch unpredictable, and always a tiny bit tragic. 2025 saw Justyna Steczkowska give it a good go with “Gaja,” landing a respectable mid-table finish (14th) and igniting at least three thousand thinkpieces about Poland’s true Eurovision identity. This year, as ever, it’s all up for grabs: seasoned professionals, reality show escapees, and that guy with a synthesizer in his shed. Poland’s always one sip of vodka away from sending something memorable—whether for the right reasons, who can say?

Dates to Bother Remembering
Here’s the deal:
• Submit by November 24th, or prepare your excuses.
• National final: At some point, probably with more drama than Poland’s last general election.
• The actual party in Vienna: May 12, 14 and 16, so save the dates and buy your tissues.
So, Poland’s setting up for Eurovision 2026 with all the optimism of someone hoping their Uber Eats driver brings cutlery. Will they top 1994’s legendary second place? Or are we about to witness a glorious meltdown-to-meme? Only time (and Polish viewers armed with remote controls) will tell.
And if you don’t like it, remember—there’s always Moldova.
