Two potential Semi Final winners back to back? I wouldn’t bet against it.
In the same way that Hungary was “drawn” last, there is an argument that Malta has been “drawn” first in this semi for exactly the same reasons. This has a spine-tingling start and good camera work; Richard sings directly to you, and the lyrics and performance will melt the hardest of hearts. Even though Mumfords will sue for copyright, this is a good song and a good performance.
They (PBS) have even kept the poppy theme in the background (without the war theme), and apparently they had a competition to get your face on the backdrop. There are hundreds of Maltese selfies, but they don’t detract that much from the song.
It’s very, very good 😉
