Do you ever get confused by song titles? You expect a song in a certain language because of the title, and you get something else? Songs in Serbo-Croat with English titles for example.
Today’s birthday boy Wyn Hoop (né Winfried Lüssenhop) did his stuff in London 66 – yes, 66 – years ago. London was the first capital city to host a contest, and his song was in German with a French title. French is apparently the language of love. Anyway, Wyn came fourth, with a large proportion of his points coming from France. Maybe they were fooled by the French title.
Wyn is 90 today.
