Eurovision

We all remember 2024. It was memorable on so many levels. Not all of them completely savoury. But, we still had 37 songs competing for the crystal microphone. And one of them features today.

Our friends in Armenia usually generally revert to English to perform in, with the occasional Armenia just for that authentic touch. But in Malmö, today’s birthday girl Ջակլին Բաղդասարյան/Jaklin Baghdasaryan, along with her Լադանիվա/Ladaniva pal Louis Thomas sang the first song entirely in Armenian to make a Grand Final, Impressive, eh? Anyway, whilst another song from Armenia from a few years ago may have been one of the standout songs of its year, Ladaniva’s song finished a creditable eighth. The country’s best finish cine 2016. It must have been the catchy tune and innovative staging.

Jaklin is 28 today.

Ծնունդդ շնորհավոր, Ջակլին!
