So it’s the day where you find out which half of the draw your countries entry is in… also the organisers have done away with what was known as ‘the producers choice’.
As you all know by now, the countries competing were divided into five pots based, largely, on location (with a bit of the old neighbourly voting bias thrown in). Those pots, for those of you that are interested, were:
Pot One
Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Switzerland
Pot Two
Australia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Sweden
Pot Three
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Israel, Poland, Ukraine
Pot Four
Belgium, Czechia, Luxembourg, Moldova, Portugal, Romania
Pot Five
San Marino, Cyprus, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta
In today’s overly drawn-out shenanigans, three countries from each pot were drawn to perform in each semi final, starting at pot 1 and working down to pot 5, Then they picked again to find out in which half of the show they’ll feature.
The Big 5 4 plus hosts Austria drew separately, deciding which semi final they will vote (and perform) in.
- France – 2nd Semi Final
- Germany – 1st Semi Final
- Italy – 1st Semi final
- UK – 2nd Semi final
- Austria – 2nd Semi Final.
