I’ve been coming to this shindig for 14 years and I’m not often wrong-footed or dry with words.
This is one of those times.
They start with a faux light sabre, or a used halogen tube which goes between them, and they sing on a platform. You will then start, as Mr Mulhall from Eurovision Ireland did, to think “wouldn’t it be funny if this were a see-saw”…
And stone me – it is! – that’s right…. The kids are on a see-saw… on prime time telly. They then play a playground game, come of it and, at the moment they sing about the sun, the See-saw converts (magically) into a sunrise!
This has car crash written all the way through it – as well as lambs to the slaughter!
There is also a threat of pyros in the last rehearsal… I’ll keep you posted!
