The Olympics of Song – or rather the trial by schlager that is Melodifestivalen – returns to one of its spiritual homes for this heat, Gothenburg.
If memory serves me correctly, Gothenburg has hosted every a semi final in every year since the Swedish song juggernaut  started … which is amazing – or not – your call!
As with last week, and with every week, seven songs competed (with the addition of last-minute substitute Jan Johanssen). Two were knocked out in the first round, with the top two going to the final and the next two runners up going to Andra Chansen.

Voters rejected the two songs in Swedish, again, and put through serial loser in my mind Anna Bergendahl to the final. They also put Dotter through direkt till Finalen.
