Serviette of Doom: Eurovision 2021 – Semi-final 2

Serviette of Doom
In which we aim to predict who might make it at Eurovision

With the confidence of a million mediocre white men that went before, we’re here again and telling you the entries we think will make the Grand Final of the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest.

Tonight, 17 countries take part in the sing-off to secure ten places in Saturday evening’s big show.

Tradition dictates that OnEuropeans gather in some place that serves an early and reasonably priced supper and scribble our predictions on the back of the (inevitably) paper serviettes. Since we’re modern people, we’re doing this digitally.

Our ten picks are below. Feel free to mock.

Mr Phil

Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Greece, Portugal, San Marino, Moldova, Albania, Denmark, Estonia.  – 7/10

That Monty

San Marino, Czech Republic, Greece, Austria, Iceland, Serbia, Albania, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Moldova. – 8/10

Nick

Just one tweak from my jury semifinal learnings this time – I now think Denmark is winning the little private Lightcycles battle against Poland, will pull first half in the final, get the honour of being the show opener, and will finish in 26th place with a disappointing 19 points, the bulk of which come from a 7 in the Icelandic televote because a family in Vestmannaeyjar mistakenly believe themselves to be distantly related to one of them.

Qualifiers tonight: San Marino, Greece, Austria, Iceland, Albania, Portugal, Bulgaria, Finland, Switzerland, Denmark. – 8/10

Mo

Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Greece, San Marino, Moldova, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Denmark. – 8/10

Over to you

It’s time dear readers to tell us who YOU think will win. Yes both of you. Post below Scroll right down to the ‘what do you think’ box and name your ten picks. Share our shame – or accuse us of something nefarious. Your call.
