It was 2000, a brave new world – and just for a change we were in Stockholm for Eurovision.
Belgium did their usual thing and plucked a gawky girl from obscurity, saddled her with a terrible song and told her to do her best. Except their best wasn’t especially good.
Nails down the blackboard don’t come close to this clusterfuck of a performance. We’d already seen the national final video and knew the pretty Miss Sorce was challenged in the vocal front, but nothing could have prepared us.
The support of her church didn’t help. She sank without trace and deserves her place in Eurovision hell.
