The home (for me) entrant Bonnie Tyler is here! The United Kingdom’s internally selected representative for Eurovision 2013, Bonnie was in Malmö to perform “Believe in Me”, written by Desmond Child, Lauren Christy and Christopher Braide.
I’ve not seen her yet but guess who was the first to meet her? It’s the ubiquitous Krista from Finland, posting evidence on her Instagram account. On Friday 10 May, after a day of press-centre interviews, Krista Siegfrids met Bonnie at her Malmö hotel. Ms Tyler looks a bit startled. You can’t blame her.
Krista was representing Finland with “Marry Me” at the same contest, with the grand final still to come on 18 May. Retrospectively, Bonnie performed 15th and finished 19th of 26 entries with 23 points; Krista performed 4th and finished 24th with 13 points. None of that was known when this little hotel-meeting report was written.
