Today’s song is seen as inspirational by some. I can see where they’re coming from. This is a song about a change in life and the optimism around it.
I know, I’m getting all American self-help book on you. However some songs are frothy, some songs are predictable, and this song by today’s birthday boy Jostein Hasselgård does get you thinking. It’s nicely written and Europe agreed. This song finished fourth, behind Turkey, Belgium (with its imaginary tomfoolery) and Russia (with its real tomfoolery). It even led at one point. I think it’s a classic.
