This should be dead in the water – Carola should have pissed on its chips. However, after another lacklustre performance by the Carola, Estonia could surprise a lot of people by qualifying and taking her place. Alternatively, it could be dead in the water and score a very low score.
Estonia’s entry was “Through My Window”, performed by Swedish singer Sandra Oxenryd. It was selected at Eurolaul 2006, where a ten-member international jury chose it from ten competing songs. I’m not sure, but there is one thing: it’s a Eurolaul transplant if ever there was one!
There was at least a neat running-order comparison here: Carola performed “Invincible” 20th in the semi-final, immediately before Estonia’s 21st-place performance. At the time, that made the possibility of Estonia taking her place an entertaining one. Retrospectively, though, it was not to be: Carola qualified in fourth place with 214 points, while Estonia finished 18th of 23 with 28 points and missed the final.
