Danish broadcaster DR has confirmed that Denmark will take part in Eurovision 2026, regardless of whether Israel remains in the line-up.
The decision was set out this week, ending speculation that Denmark might join a growing list of broadcasters threatening conditional withdrawals. In comments carried by DR and reported by Eurovision outlets, senior editor Gustav Lützhøft confirmed that Denmark’s participation is not up for debate.
The national final, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, is scheduled for 14 February 2026 in Frederikshavn. Submissions for the contest remain open until early November, and the show will once again decide Denmark’s act through a mix of jury and televote.
By taking this position, Denmark has separated itself from broadcasters such as Spain’s RTVE and Ireland’s RTÉ, both of which have said they will not compete if Israel is allowed to enter.
DR’s stance provides certainty for Danish fans and artists preparing for DMGP 2026, even as wider Eurovision politics remain unsettled ahead of the EBU’s General Assembly in December.
