I’ve just looked at the screen, pointed and said, “It’s Danny Alexander!” Cue guffaws all round.
So when your man isn’t being a younger ex-Chief Secretary to the UK Treasury, he’s being… Danish. And, to be honest, that’s no problem in this contest. Anyone who likes shufflepop—and anyone who likes that kind of thing—will love it.
It has a very infectious happy-clappy vibe. You find yourself swaying along, they look good on the screen, and the Danish press love it. There’s plenty of affection for the performance, and deservedly so.
The bad news is that it’s only slightly above average among these performances. That may not be enough to get it high enough in the next bit, because although it is walking through this bit, it doesn’t quite have the extra spark needed to put it right at the top.
