Every year there’s that song. Yes, every year. You know the one. The one that gets “rave” reviews. The one that the fans out there think will win by 300,000 points. And then, well, it doesn’t.
Not so long ago, we were in Malmö. Yes, for that contest. But aside from the many goings on, our friends in Austria sent today’s birthday girl Kaleen (née Marie-Sophie Kreissl). Her song was most definitely a banger. One for the connoisseur of bangers no doubt. But there’s always that thought, and we’ve all been there – can said banger be performed live? The answer was not really, judging by the scores that rolled in on that infamous Grand Final evening. Ironically, for a banger, the juries liked Kaleen more.
Kaleen is 31 today.
