The backing troupe are all in white, wearing Phantom Of The Opera masks and carrying multi-coloured flags. Not rainbow, you understand: this song is quite understated. Oh wait… Hang on, crunch those gears up, lady, let’s go totally overstated!
The backing troupe rip off their robes and reveal a ‘hotch-potch’ of party people: a gangly lad with a top knot, a camp whoopsie boy with pink glasses (think Piero from Il Volo when he turns thirty), and girls with tassels, ra-ra skirts and fuck-me boots, all cavorting as if their lives depended on it. Bojana cranks up the vocal, and this becomes a rousing ‘look at me, I don’t care what you think’ anthem for every bullied gay boy or fat girl at school. They are having fun, fun, fun, and it made me smile. I’m still undecided how Europe will take to it.
