I hate this with a passion. I despise cod classical music and this is the worst example of its kind. There’s little changed from the national final; Axel’s in a roomy suit, a dancer evokes the spirit of a dead mother wafting around behind him. The backdrop has a leafy/Paisley design in purple. It’s mawkish and creepy and it boils my piss. I can’t deny he can sing, but it’s not a style I want to hear, at Eurovision or anywhere else. I’m hoping it bombs without trace. I’m disappointed it’s not going to. I’m terrified it’s going to win…
