I want them all to go through – but I just cant see them all doing that!! This is a very very tough semi indeed and don’t be surprised if I have scored the minimum of 3/10.
This was the second Eurovision Song Contest 2013 semi-final, held at Malmö Arena on Thursday 16 May, with 17 countries competing for ten places in the Grand Final. The official running order began with Latvia and ended with Romania, making this a particularly difficult list to narrow down.
Looking back: the prediction was rather better than my joking minimum of 3/10 suggested. Seven of these ten countries qualified: Azerbaijan, Finland, Malta, Iceland, Greece, Norway and Georgia. San Marino missed out in 11th place, Albania finished 15th and Latvia came last in 17th. Georgia took the final qualifying place with 63 points, while San Marino finished 11th with 47, which neatly confirms just how tight this semi-final felt at the time.
