I often wonder what thought processes some countries adopt in putting together a stage show for our favourite TV programme. In the past they had to make do with an orchestra. These days, it’s Russian ovens, or pipers sitting on unconvincing rocks. And then there’s today’s video.
Birthday girl Luminița Anghel had her chums from Sistem in stage with her. They obviously assumed that violins and trombones were s passé that they made their own instruments out of whatever was lying around their local oil refinery. As you do. It was all very jolly, and is still Romania’s joint-best result.
Luminița is 49 today.
