Do you ever wonder why some countries have very long selection processes? They have endless weeks of singer selection, song selection, matching the song to the singer, matching the singers to various songs, weeks of our favourite Eurovision hits, and so on. And then they pick an interesting song that becomes beloved in its native land, but viewed with indifference everywhere else.
This is how things have been in Lithuania for a few years now. In 2015, birthday boy Vaidas Baumila was paired up with Monika Linkytė during the selection, and they sang the already chosen song better than their rival. They even made the final. Good on them!
Vaidas is 30 today.
