That thing when you think a song title hasn’t been used before, but in actual fact it has. Take a certain Azerbaijani singing in Rotterdam a few years ago. She sang about a Dutch temptress. Maybe she didn’t know that that specific song title has been used before.
In 1976 when the circus was in The Hague, Norway sent today’s birthday girl Anne-Karine Strøm about the same temptress. Her frock was the complete opposite of what Mata Hari may have worn – I can’t imagine a gold lamé trouser suit being all the rage a century ago. Needless to say, Anne-Karine gave a memorable performance. But is it more memorable than what we saw in Rotterdam?
Anne-Karine is 74 today.
