Remember 2020? It’s a long time ago now, but it may still give you the shakes. Contests were cancelled, we couldn’t socialise, and the whole world went just a little bit mad.
Our favourite TV show was cancelled, but every participant had picked their acts. Some got the gig in 2021, but there’s a small cohort of unlucky singers who never got to lock horns in competition. One of these was today’s birthday girl Ulrikke Brandstorp. She had tried to win Norsk MGP, and she tried subsequently. But we can always wonder whether this song would have grabbed the attention of the people of Europe and beyond. Who knows, we may yet see her on that big shiny Eurovision stage in the future?
Ulrikke is 30 today.
