We know that our favourite TV show has shared stars with the junior version. It’s only natural that once a talented youngster gets the taste of singing on a big big stage, they want to carry on.
Today’s birthday girls Amy Talitha Vol and Shelley Celine Vol are two thirds of O’G3NE. They and their big sister Lisa first did JESC as the home entrants in 2007 and finished 11th. Undaunted, they came back 10 years later through a Dutch internal selection with a song co-written by their dad. It’s sometimes nice to keep things in the family. Anyway, they breezed through their semi-final in sunny Kyiv and guessed where they finished in the Grand Final? Eleventh. Hmmm. It must be fate. But aside from a famous win in 2019, the Dutch haven’t done better since.
Amy and Shelley are 30 today.
