Have you noticed that some countries seem to be in the doldrums? No, not the windless areas near the equator, but in our favourite TV show. They try their hardest, put loads of effort in, and yet don’t yield a result.
In 2019, our friends in Germany picked today’s birthday girl Carlotta Truman (with the blonde hair), along with her pal Laurita. They performed as S!sters, even though they weren’t. They’d been through a national final beating six other acts, and getting votes from jurors around Europe. So they knew they could score points. Onto Tel-Aviv and they were, of course, straight through to the Grand Final. So how did they do? Well, there was a smattering of points from the juries, more than five other songs. And then that all-important televote? Well, let’s just say they finished with 24 points.
Carlotta is 26 today.
