Contests 2018 Page 30

2018

The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest was the 63rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place for the first time in Lisbon, Portugal, following the country’s first victory at the 2017 contest in Kiev, with the song “Amar pelos dois”, performed by Salvador Sobral.

The contest comprised two semi-finals on 8 and 10 May, and a final on 12 May 2018 in the Altice Arena, Lisbon.

The winner was Netta with ‘Toy’ representing Israel, who as she picked up her award, declare ‘Next year in Jerusalem.’ That prompted various outcries and a few suggestions of boycott, plus general talk of how it’s going to be a security nightmare and such.
