Melodifestivalen rolled into Kristianstad for Heat 3, delivering a night where party anthems and rock riffs comfortably outmuscled the subtler end of Swedish pop. The six competing entries offered a mix of rock, high‑energy pop, contemporary radio sounds and ballad‑leaning material.
Heat 3 confirmed that high‑energy entries continued to dominate the mood of the 2026 tour. Rock and party pop brought the biggest reactions in the arena, while the more contemporary and understated numbers relied on atmosphere and storytelling rather than spectacle.
Performance highlights
Korslagda opened with “King of Rock ’n’ Roll”, a raw, guitar‑driven track staged like a sweaty club gig, complete with warm lighting and a focus on band chemistry. Medina’s “Viva L’Amor” turned the arena into a festival set, packing in choreography, brass flourishes and a crowd‑pleasing chorus.
Saga Ludvigsson’s “Ain’t Today” delivered sleek, modern pop with clean visuals and controlled choreography that positioned her as a promising new voice. “Dusk Till Dawn” saw Patrik Jean step confidently into the spotlight, framing an uptempo dance‑pop track with a distinctive spoken‑word section.
The quieter moments
Emilia Pantić’s “Ingenting” brought an indie‑leaning, introspective touch, relying on intimate staging and a gentle build rather than fireworks. Closing the show, Eva Jumatate’s “Selfish” showcased a strong vocal over a more traditional pop‑ballad structure, gradually layering in power and emotion towards a climactic final chorus.
Those results then?

Medina and Saga went direkt till final, with Eva getting the wild card. The songs are clearly more beige than the first semi final and somewhat weaker than even last week – could it be that the sultans of Schlager are losing their touch?
