Well despite the songs being of questionable quality, some dodgy hosting choices early on and the ridiculous substitution of Bidrag for melodi which was put right quickly enough, SVT remembered how to do a Melodifestivalen final.
A great shiny floor spectacular greeted the 30,000+ in the Strawberry Arena and, if you have been following this circus for what seems to be about a million weeks, you know how this goes. Twelves songs got through to the final where eight internatiuonal juries and a sweden wide televote decided the winner. Of *course* they allwoed Kaj to perform in the interval, much to my joy and, arguably they had the better song.
Despite me asking my chums if they could suddenly substitute KAJ again ( and, technically, they *could*) those juries and televote gave us the following result :
| Song | Performer(s) | Jury | Televote | Total | Psn |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iconic | A*Teens | 31 | 36 | 67 | 7 |
| Dooset Daram | Meira Omar | 33 | 8 | 41 | 9 |
| Delulu | Lilla Al-Fadji | 24 | 39 | 63 | 8 |
| Ain't Today | Saga Ludvigsson | 5 | 13 | 18 | 12 |
| Hollow | Smash Into Pieces | 49 | 41 | 90 | 4 |
| Eternity | Cimberly | 48 | 30 | 78 | 6 |
| Viva L'Amor | Medina | 66 | 66 | 132 | 3 |
| Half of Me | Greczula | 64 | 70 | 134 | 2 |
| Honey Honey | Robin Bengtsson | 22 | 7 | 29 | 11 |
| My System | FELICIA | 71 | 90 | 163 | 1 |
| Waste Your Love | Sanna Nielsen | 17 | 16 | 33 | 10 |
| Rakt in i elden | Brandsta City Släckers | 34 | 48 | 82 | 5 |
Swedes liked it quite a lot, seemingly, and it’s their view that counts. “Influencers” of which I am not one of them, had been saying that this was the one but, in all honesty, there were better songs in this final but hey, what do i know? – What will it do in Vienna? – Who knows but those who think it will Slay will be very loud on their channels I am sure!
