When I was young, quite some time ago, Cyprus used to put a lot of different musical styles and genres into this contest. But in the Panik Records era, CYBC seems to think that the only thing that does well for Cyprus is the female empowerment “banger” with the predictable dance break on stage.
Cyprus has released its Eurovision 2024 entry, with Silia promising a familiar female empowerment pop performance and dance break.
Anyone who has watched Eurovision in the last ten years is going to know exactly how this is going to be staged from their first hearing of the song. It has all the requisite elements to be a decent song and, in the video at least, it seems to have the performance elements nailed. It will all come down to whether or not Silia can hit all the notes in the right order.
Just my opinion, I’m sure that I will have offended someone!
