Poland – Pray – Is a classic women belting out a song
Alicja seems to have a good and strong voice and she also seems to be able to carry a tune. Her voice is the best asset the song has to offer because the rest is just your usual inoffensive song, with her showing off her vocal range.
That gospel sound the song has, is clearly to make the song recognisable to the audience, but I am not sure it is enough to keep it interesting. The ending of the song comes out of nowhere and is so abruptly that you find yourself asking, where is that coming from?
It may get some juries love but the question remains: would the Polish diaspora enough to carry this to the final?
The song’s location as second to last in the running order of semi 1, buffels me a bit, It is not a strong enough song to get enough support and might be in danger of not qualifying even with the very favourable location in the running order.
