This song confuses me in a good way. On the one hand you have a decent well crafted song which is the dyke equivalent of “Don’t marry her, have me” by the Beautiful South with a very guitar laden undertone, but on the other hand you have a concept for a video whereby Alice is getting married to a man who is clearly a bit of a twat and Alice really needs to punch him in the nads.
None of this will have any bearing on how the song will do in it’s semi final, however, because you cant replicate that, and that, reader, is going to be its main problem. It’s so heavily reliant on the video for context that without it you have an album track on someone’s second studio album. It’s not a contest song, it’s just a decent song in the wrong context.
